Lodge Glass Lid
Can I cook corn bread in a Dutch oven you need an answer really fast?
I make corn bread stuffing for Thanksgiving. I'm with some Jiffy Corn bread mix. Recipe calls for an 8-inch pan. I have to swing a 13 "x9" cake pan and a smaller glass. I also have a Lodge Dutch Oven with an approximately 8 inch base. Should I pan a double batch of corn bread or cake in the Dutch Oven I could, without the lid. I do not care what the bread as I have been using it for stuffing I just do not want to burn it does. I really do not want a double batch since I'm only cooking for 4 adults and 1 child. Also …. What do you think about adding dried cranberries to the stuffing?
The Dutch Oven should be fine as long as it is oven safe (no plastic handles or parts) and fat it's like a Cake pan. If you have a cast iron skillet, that would be ideal. I turned my corn bread and it came out perfect! Cranberries sound in the filling delicious. Happy Thanksgiving!
